LSM2104: Essential Bioinformatics and Biocomputing

The following questions are intended for the students who want to explore bioinformatics databases and software beyond those convered in the lectures, tutorials and labs:

1. How many protein families are there? Find at least one protein in each family (Swissprot ID and protein name).

2. One of the strategies of anticacer treatment is to cut blood supply to a tumor. What are the related proteins used as a target?

3. Can you find a 3D structure of an EGF receptor (either experimental or modelled)?
